Building 12

December 3, 2018

Our work on Building 12 will transform a dilapidated former manufacturing facility into a vibrant gathering space as part of a 28-acre mixed-use development along the waterfront on San Francisco’s Pier 70. Building 12 will be the social centerpiece and the heart of the placemaking vision for the Pier 70 district. Designed to be a public market place that will celebrate local and small-scale manufacturing, it will serve as the first significant retail destination for the new neighborhood. The Maker’s Market Hall is envisioned to be a space where local manufacturers and artisans can meet, collaborate and create their work while also offering retail opportunities for showcasing their products onsite, engaging the public in the experience of local making and manufacturing. Above the Market Hall and second-level maker space will be a third-level office suite. The building design will also integrate with the outdoor open spaces and parks to provide opportunities for outdoor markets, concerts and group events.
