Mansi Maheshwari

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in a big extended family in New Delhi, India. We were a family of 22 – Grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins all living in the same house it was pretty amazing!

What made you want to choose architecture as a career?

My parents spent a year renovating an old house before moving our family there when I was 12. I remember visiting the site and sitting in on some of their meetings with the architect and contractor. The whole process and seeing the house come together was fascinating and got me interested in architecture.

What’s your favorite thing about working here?

I love that so many of our projects are a couple of blocks away from the office. It’s great to be able to see and visit the spaces that the office has designed.

What was your favorite travel experience?

I spent a month in Rome for a drawing workshop. It was the perfect summer – a lot of walking, sketching and gelato – along with great architecture.

What are your passions outside of work?

I enjoy music. I used to play the sitar for many years and am happy to have picked it back up recently.
